We see a lot of comparisons with the price of gas in the US vs Europe.
In europe the biggest country is France or Spain. And they have a lot of trains, busses, and subways for public transit. It is easier to get around without a car, because the areas traveled are smaller in size. That is europe.
In the US, people travel 30 miles to a job. They travel 10 miles to a grocery store, a doctor or a hospital and there is no public transit. The country is just too big. We are dependent on our cars, for the necessity of life.
Sure in NY City that might not be the case. I heard a person on FOX on Saturday saying that we should increase the price of gas to conserve. She said that she walks to work. She lives in New York City.
Would she be willing to walk 20 miles to work every day, if she lived in Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Mississippi? The people on the east and west coast don't understand the size of the US. They view the US as a taxi ride to everywhere.
Comparing the price of gas in the US vs Europe, is dumb. Thinking that all of our lives and families exist as they do on NYC and LA, is equally dumb. If these people are going to be permitted to talk on TV, they could at least be asked to understand the entire country, not just those small areas of NYC and LA.
